Social Inclusion Seminar – Jurmala, Latvia
NESFLAG Co-ordinator Jamie Wilkinson attended a seminar of FLAGs from across the European Union in Jurmala, Latvia on 21-23 March.
The event was organised by FARNET (the support organisation for FLAGs) and was themed around the subject of ‘Social Inclusion in Fisheries Areas’. The event was very well attended (about 150 delegates) and contained presentations and workshop sessions covering a multitude of issues relevant to FLAGs.
A range of case studies and examples were discussed and it is hoped some of these projects can be replicated in the future in North East Scotland. Ideas were also shared with colleagues in other FLAGs about potential transnational co-operation projects.
